ichole Bernier lives outside Boston with her husband and five children. She was a Contributing Editor for Conde Nast Traveler for 14 years, and has written for magazines including Psychology Today, Elle, Self, Health, Redbook, Salon, Men’s Journal, Yankee and Boston Magazine.

Prior to moving to Boston, she lived in New York and worked on staff at Conde Nast Traveler as the magazine’s golf and ski editor, columnist, features writer and television spokesperson, appearing frequently on programs including Good Morning America, Today, CNN and CNBC. She received her master’s degree from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, where she was given the school’s annual award for literary journalism, and received her BA in English from Colgate University, where she edited the literary magazine.

She turned her interest back to creative writing and fiction in 2005, and has taken workshops at The Writing Center in Washington DC, and Grub Street in Boston, as well as teaching at the Boston Center for Adult Ed, Grub Street, and several conferences. In 2010, Nichole was one of the writers who founded the literary blog Beyond the Margins, which publishes daily essays on the business and craft of publishing.

The Unfinished Work of Elizabeth D. is her first novel, and she is currently working on her second.
